Baer Organ
Donated 3/25/2014 The Society is pleased with the generous donation from Lyle Peitzman of an Organ. Lyle purchased the Baer Organ Shop on Main St. This organ was built by Chicao Cottage Organ Co. Chicago, Il. This organ was brought to Ron Baers Organ Shop at 205 SE Main St. Ron repaired the organ, but the owner did not return to pick up the organ. It has been in the Baer Shop for a number of years.
Baer Organ Shop was started in 1956. Rons parents, Elmer & Wilma Baer, purchased the lot from Chrles Fletchall and built the concrete block building with brick veneer front & Baer Organ busines began. Ron operated the business until 1974. The building was sold to Lyle Peitzman in May, 2012. When Lyle purchased the building, this organ was in the building. The age of this organ is unknown.
Thanks to Don & Mary Lou Friar and Fred Roth, they have restored it to a beautiful piece of Grimes History.
